The HEV fuel economy is a very impressive 6.9 L/100 km city and 7.5 L/100 km highway. Towing capacity is 3,500 lbs on the ICE and 3,000 lbs on the HEV so the boat or the trailer is not a problem.
Up to eight people can be seated in the Carnival and that is not a tight squeeze either. Cargo volume starts at 1,139 litres and opens up to a very generous 4,110 litres when the seats are folded down. The second row seats can be individually removed which is genuinely useful when you need the extra space. Seat material varies by trim. The base LX comes with cloth seats. Higher trims like EX and EX+ move to artificial leather. The SX and SX+ are fitted with pure leather seats throughout.
Standard trims come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity is included across the lineup. Wireless phone charging is available from the EX trim onward. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard on every model. The SX trim adds a BOSE premium audio system. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel come on the LX+ and above. Ventilated front seats are available on SX trims. The heated wired windshield is standard across all trims which is something Ontario winters make you genuinely appreciate. LED fog lights are fitted from the EX trim up. Keyless entry and push-button ignition are standard on every Carnival and power door locks are included across the board.
Standard safety features on every 2027 Carnival include forward collision avoidance assist for cars pedestrians and cyclists along with lane following assist lane keep assist blind spot collision avoidance rear cross-traffic collision avoidance and driver attention warning. Front and rear parking sensors are fitted as standard. The advanced safety package builds on this with Highway Driving Assist 2 available on SX trims which helps maintain lane centering and distance on highways. FCA 2.0 adds junction crossing detection and lane change side collision warning. A surround view monitor and blind spot view monitoring are added on SX models. Emergency SOS and automatic collision notification are connected through Kia Connect on every trim. The 2027 Kia Carnival covers a lot of ground.
